Session Details

My goal with each client is to create images that are beautiful, meaningful, and unique. Every person and every family is different, so I strive to create a different portrait session for every client. I limit the number of clients I take per month to give each the love and personal attention they deserve while creating amazing images. Together we’ll create something beautiful. This is not your average portrait studio.

Your Pre-Shoot Consultation

Before your session we’ll meet and discuss location and clothing choices and you’ll teach me what is unique about you and your family. I love to shoot at locations that are special to you or suit your family’s personality. As for clothing, choose something that you look great in, but more importantly feel great in, because that is what will show in your images. All my sessions allow for at least one outfit change so you can show off both your dressy and your casual side.

The Session Experience

My ultimate goal is for you to feel comfortable while I make you look beautiful. I create a fun and casual experience. There is never anything to be nervous about. I’m not at all intimidating. I’m just a tiny 4’11” and always have a big smile on my face. I’ll arrive in my jeans and tennis shoes with my assistant in tow. We’ll chat for a bit so I can get to know your family better and get everyone feeling comfortable with me.

Your session will last as long as it takes to get the images you want. I never book sessions back to back, so I won’t have to rush off to see another client. Most sessions last between one and two hours. We will shoot at your home or another location of your choosing using natural light. I’ll shoot a combination of natural and posed images. I love to capture candid moments, but I also want to create an image that captures you at your most beautiful.

I like to bring props to most sessions to add something special. Feel free to bring some of your own. A child’s favorite toy can be the ideal detail to add interest to your shots and keep the little one distracted from the camera.

After Your Session

About two weeks after your session we’ll get together for an in-person Ordering Session. I will show you a slideshow of your images and walk you through the selection of portrait packages and products, including some custom collections which I’ll put together just for you.

One week after your Ordering Session, I’ll put your images into an online gallery and slideshow for you to invite your friends and family to view and purchase prints as well.

A few weeks after you place your order your images will arrive, you’ll hang them on your wall, your friends will be jealous and will tell you how amazing you look! You’ll smile and hand them my card.
