Leah and Jon are such a sweet couple! I had so much fun shooting these maternity portraits for them back in September. Since it was the very end of summer, we started out with Leah in a summery outfit and moved into more fall looks. And because she had a lumberjack themed baby shower for her baby Jack, she added in a some plaid to her looks.
Because I’m so behind in blogging their little boy is already here and I already shot his newborn portraits. He was such a beautiful little boy! And a perfect sleeper for me! I can’t wait to share those portraits soon!
And a special thank you to Sara of Beauty Hairem for the beautiful hair & makeup styling!
When my clients book a family portrait session with me we spend some time talking about how they want their family’s story told. What is it that they want their children to see about their childhood when they look back at these images? For this family, they asked me to capture the smiles and the joy the family has on beautiful afternoons spent outside their home, walking around their neighborhood together. And of course, the love…always the love. For me, being able to capture all the love and connection in a family is what it’s all about.
I absolutely love shooting maternity portraits, and it’s always a treat to get to photograph second (or third or fourth!) pregnancies. It makes me so happy to get to include older siblings in capturing the excitement of waiting for a new little one to join the family.
I photographed big brother Joey through his entire first year and now I have the honor of photographing his little sister’s first year too!
Little sister Savannah Grace arrived earlier this week! I can’t wait to meet her for her newborn portraits!
